Menno Place’s annual Memorial & Butterfly Release honoured over 160 of residents who have passed away at our campus of care over the past year.

The sitewide memorial was a sacred time for families to grieve together and was followed by a joyful and meaningful release of butterflies symbolizing new life. This special event brought together members of the Menno Place community of care, including residents, family members, staff, volunteers, and caregivers.

The metamorphosis of a butterfly is a powerful symbol as we go through the grieving process. We find hope in the transformation of these butterflies, a hope that even through transition and loss, beauty and new life can be found.
