Our next Family Council meeting will be on March 21, 2019. We will be meeting in the Menno Hospital Conference Room (near the Fireside Café- behind Receptionist Leslie Calbick’s desk) from 3-4pm.

Trish Giesbrecht (Menno Hospital Manger of Care and Quality Improvement Lead) will be our guest speaker where she will discuss her role and how she can be a support for family members.

The origins of this carol date to medieval times. The Latin verses were discovered in the mid 1800s by an English minister named John Mason Neale, who translated and wove them together to produce “O Come, O Come, Emmanuel.” Neale is also the author of the carol, “Good King Wenceslas,” and the Palm Sunday hymn, “All Glory, Laud, and Honor.” Find out more about this poet, scholar, and director of a home for the elderly.

Overwhelmed with God’s creative brilliance, Folliot S. Pierpoint wrote this poem, “For the Beauty of the Earth.” He intended it primarily for Communion services in the Anglican Church, but when it jumped the Atlantic, it quickly became associated with the American Thanksgiving holiday.
