  • DONATE A PIANO

Donating a Piano to Menno Place

Menno Place will consider accepting a piano donation after evaluating the need for one and confirming that the donor will help ensure the piano is in excellent condition for the residents and musicians to enjoy.

The procedure for a piano donation is as follows:

    1. The donated piano must be in very good to excellent condition and require no repairs.
    2. All donated pianos must pass an inspection by Gerard Doppenberg (https://doppenberg.ca/). The donor is responsible for arranging and paying for the inspection directly with Mr. Doppenberg. The inspection cost is $175 plus tax. If the piano passes the inspection and is donated, this inspection paperwork will qualify the donor to receive a charitable tax receipt for the value of the piano.
    3. All costs for moving the piano are covered by the donor.
    4. Menno Place welcomes an additional donation to cover the cost of tuning the piano upon its arrival.

Thank you for considering donating your piano to Menno Place. Your generous gift will bring joy to our residents, staff, and families, as many of our residents are talented pianists who enrich our community with their music.
