Home is shaped by warmth, familiarity, and gentle care. At Menno Place, residents experience this every day through the calm, dignified support our staff provide during essential daily transfers.

Thanks to the generosity of friends and supporters like you, we have already funded three new lifts. Looking ahead to 2026, our total need is eleven lifts, with eight still to be funded. At $15,652 per lift (total $125,216), donor support continues to play a vital role in helping us provide safe, respectful care and maintain the sense of home our residents deserve.

FAQs

Why are new lifts needed? Many of our current lifts are aging. Replacing them ensures safe, comfortable support for residents and protects staff from injury.
Why this lift? The Arjo Maxi Move 5 is a trusted, multi-use lift staff rely on every day for safe, ergonomic transfers. More information as well as videos can be found HERE.
Is there a giving deadline? Gifts can be made at any time. Donations now support timely equipment planning and replacement.
What if donations exceed the cost? Additional gifts go toward Menno Place’s highest-priority equipment needs.
What if the full amount isn’t raised? Menno Place will continue seeking support until all essential lifts are funded.
Will I receive a tax receipt? Yes. Donations of $20 or more are eligible.

Receipt of and spending of donations is confined to Board approved programs and projects. If, in the opinion of MBS, it should become no longer practical or possible to use this gift for a purpose specified or restricted by the donor (for example, if the program to which it relates is restructured, oversubscribed, or discontinued), MBS will redirect the gift to another purpose where it is most needed, as determined by Board in its discretion.
